OS
X fans: This is for you.
Everything you can download here is FREE. All I ask is that you distribute
it, link me, keep the readme's in place, and hopefully, listen to my radio
station. I don't do any of this for money, just for fun, learning, and
maybe some recognition
Windows Users...
I'm surprised by the popularity of my icon sets... it's led to the oft-repeated
question, "Is there a Windows version?" Well, um, sorta. Yes,
now you buttoned-down conformist types can use these icons, too. However,
just as you Wintel developers don't do much for us Mac types, you'll have
to convert the icons yourself. All you have to do is download MacIco
or IconShop...
if you're still confused, try out this
tutorial. Oh yeah, you'll likely need
Aladdin Systems' Expander to decompress the .sit.hqx file!
[I make no guarantees that the software/tutorials linked are of any value...
if you know of any better tools or methods, let me know!]

In
2001, Apple released Mac OS X, and some of us went nuts - in a
good way. For a brief period, I fashioned myself as an icon designer
and interface tweaker for this shiny, new operating system. I
honored some requests, got international distribution on CD-ROMs
and in magazines, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. With OS X now
being the standard OS, there are now legions of hobbyist designers
who are creating fun and clever interface enhancements everyday.
I have since "retired" from the icon biz, except when
called upon by employers, and hope that my small contribution
to the Mac community will endure. Enjoy!

Industrial
Icons X 0.9 (May 2, 2001) 1mb
This
is what you end up with when I'm listening to too
much industrial music.A gift from the rivethead within.
Burnt, rusted, & corroded metal rules. This is
an almost entirely complete set of system icons
for Mac OS X, so you can replace your system-wide
icons with them using tricks documented at sites like
xicons.com.
They are also scaled down for use as classic Mac OS
icons. A few glitches were planned for a 1.0 release,
but that's been abandoned.

Technopop
Icons X 1.01 (May
23, 2001) 589k
Clean,
geometric shapes = Techno. Bright, cheery colors =
Pop. Zero candy-raver added. This set features translucent
colors so they look different against all backgrounds.
This is an entirely complete set of system icons
for Mac OS X, so you can use them as stated above.
They are also scaled down for use as classic Mac OS
icons. UPDATE:
The "CD" icon previously said "DVD"
on it. This has been fixed. Thanks to Darren Locke
for pointing this out!
Matching
desktop picture is a very bright bluish color... (73k

Technopop1.0
X-tras (May
5, 2001) 243k
Want
the dock, "poof," and login/bootup
panels you see in the Technopop screen shot? Here
they are! NOT for the faint of heart, you will need
to use root access in the terminal or boot into OS
9 to install these, as described in this
great MacNN posting.

Depeche
Mode Icons X 1.0 (May 3, 2001)
912k
Their
new album Exciter (the green disc icon on the left)
is coming out on the 15th, and I'm all giddy because
I got tickets for the tour. Here's the icon set to
go with that mood. Special features: Disc icons feature
translucent hubs for that picture disc
look, 3 varieties of Enjoy the Silence
roses... ;) Definitely usable as classic Mac OS icons,
as well, this is a varied set, not a system set.

AlcoholiX
Icons 1.0 (May 6, 2001) 330k
Hi.
My name's Omid. And I'm an X-aholic... I wanted to
show off how cool glass & liquid icons
can look in OS X, so where better to start than with
booze? You'll find a variety of drinks among the 10
icons here - I couldn't help making an Apple martini..
or a cocktail shaker to get the party started!
How detailed is this set? I salted the rim of that
margarita glass, my friend. Once again, this also
works nicely as a set of classic Mac icons, so drink
it up!

you grabbed the AlcoholiX icons & desktop, but
you want to complete your lounge? No problem.

Tool
Icons X 1.0 (May 9, 2001) 273k
radio1328
isn't the only place I take requests! Someone in the
xicons.com
forums requested some Tool icons, so here you
go! Like DM's Exciter, Tool's new album Lateralus
comes out on May 15, and this icon set is here to
celebrate it.. so download these eight icons,
then go buy the album!
**Upon the recommendation of Kabir,
who runs this
most excellent Tool site, I've tweaked the Undertow
ribcage icon so the bottom is concave so as not to
get hatemail from any of you really picky fans...

Pac-10
Icons X 1.0 (May 11, 2001)
601k
In
the ongoing battle against the east coast bias in
college sports, I give you the icons representing
the conference of champions, none other than
the Pacific 10. You'll find icons for all the Pac-10
schools, as well as a Pac-10 logo... yet another
request from the xicons
forums... you guys rock!
